From the Pastor’s Desk

Take a look at the empty tomb.

At Easter we think about Jesus, the man on the cross, but do we think much of the empty tomb and the risen Saviour Jesus from the dead?

The empty tomb where the dead Jesus was placed is one of the proven facts of history.

On that Sunday when the female disciples came to anoint the body of Jesus, they found the tomb empty. People searched for the body of Jesus and after 50 days, Peter one of His disciples could stand up in front of a crowd of several thousands in Jerusalem and say that the tomb of Jesus was empty, because He is risen from the dead. In fact, Peter and more than 500 people could testify to having seen Him.

The fact, and it is a fact, that Jesus rose from the dead and still lives is the most important event to have taken place on earth.

What does the death and resurrection of Jesus tell us?

1] Jesus is as He said He was God’s son.

2] We have a body that dies but we have a soul that lives on to eternity.

3] Where our soul goes to eternity, depends on whether we have faith in Jesus, God’s son.

This Easter do not think only of a man dying on the cross, think also of an empty tomb and of the man who rose from the dead.

“He is not here: for He is risen, as He said, come see the place where the Lord lay”. [ Matthew 28:6].
