11am – Don’t be a Pharisee

We turn to Mark 12:13 where the Pharisees and Herodians attempt to catch Jesus out by what He says. What can we learn from their behaviour and from Jesus’ response?

6pm – Pray without Ceasing

We turn to two passages on prayer, both from the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 6:5-15 and from Paul’s letter to the the Ephesians (Ephesians 1:15-16). We will consider how a Christian should pray.

11am – Parable of the Tenants

This morning we turn to Mark 12:1-12 for the parable of the vineyard tenants.

6pm – Pilate’s encounter with Jesus

We continue our mini-series of encounters with Jesus. This week we turn to Luke 23:1-25, where Jesus encounters Pontius Pilate.

11am – Trouble with the Scribes

We turn to Mark 11:27-33, where a group of scribes question Jesus’ authority. What does Jesus’ response show about who He is?

6pm – Repent and Sin no More

When a woman caught in adultery is brought before Jesus in John 8:3-12, we consider how Jesus responds to both to her and her accusers.

11am – The New Has Come

For this morning’s sermon we will be turning to Mark 11:12-24 and the illustration of the barren fig tree. What can the illustration of the fig tree teach us about barren religion and prayer?

6pm – The Samaritan Woman Encouters Jesus

This evening we countinue our mini series on encounters with Jesus. This week we consider the Samaritan woman who met Jesus by the well in John 4:1-30.

Sunday 1 October

11am – Jesus Cleanses the Temple

In the morning we will be returning to our series in Mark’s Gospel. After His triumphant entry into Jerusalem, Jesus comes to the temple but finds it full of money lenders and traders. What was the reason behind Jesus driving these people out in Mark 11:15-19?

4pm – A Saved Sinner is Baptised

In the evening, we consider the reason and significance of baptism. We will be reading from Acts 8:26-40 and Isaiah 53:5-9.

Our evening service will be followed by a short baptismal service.

Sunday 24 September

This morning we turn to Mark 11:1-11 as Jesus enters Jerusalem riding on a donkey.

We turn to Joshua 5:13-15, wher Joshua encounters the Commander of the Lord’s army.
