11am – The Renewing of Strength

This week we return to Isaiah chapter 40 again; last time we thought about whether there was anyone of any god that the God of the Bible could be less than. This morning Pastor Mike is going to show us how our immense and amazing God can renew the little strength we feel like we have sometimes, and how God promises that He will do this, from Isaiah 40:28-31.

5:30pm – “I do not permit a woman to teach…”

This evening Pastor Mike picks up where we finished in our passage in 1 Timothy; last week we looked at the different roles God has established for us and this week we look at certain roles and duties that God restricts and why. This difficult and challenging passage can be found in 1 Timothy 2:11-15.

11am – A god who is less than?

This morning Pastor Mike is taking us back to Isaiah chapter 40; last week we took a look at the immensity of our God, and this time we are going to think about if there is a God bigger than our God, or as our title suggets, is there a god that is smaller or less than the God we believe in. Our reading this morning is Isaiah 40:25-28.

5:30pm – Men be men and women be women!

This evening we move into the verses about the different roles that men and women, the Bible says that we should be fulfilling, in our lives, inside and outside of the church. Pastor Mike is going to show us a bit of the context of this passage to helps to understand that how this can easily translate to our culture and the times we live in, from 1 Timothy 2:9-10.

11am – The Immensity of God

This morning Pastor Mike opens up the book of Isaiah again, getting back to chapter 40. This week we think about how great God is, who we are before Him and why this matters, from Isaiah 40:21-24.

5:30pm – Men Must Pray

This evening Pastor Mike takes us into the New Testament and to the first book ti our brother Timothy. We are going to be learning that the Bible commands that men pray, but if we want to have a relationship with God, we all should be praying. The passage for this evening is 1 Timothy 2:8.

11am – Being forgetful of God

For the first Sunday of 2026 Pastor Mike is taking us back to the beginning, to the first book of the Bible, Genesis. We are going to looking at Abraham, and what happens if and/or when we forget about God, what this means for us, how this might affect us and what we can do about it, from Genesis 20:1-21:3.

5:30pm – Remember God When We Fear

This first Sunday evening of 2026, we are returning to a similar theme and thought as the morning sermon, but from the perspective of a New Testement believer. Pastor Mike is taking us to the book of Matthew and we will be thinking about when Peter forgot about God, how that affected him and what we can learning from his experience in Matthew 26:57-75.

11am – A look back with thanks

This morning – for the last Sunday of 2025 – we are going to think about all the amazing things that have happened this year, taking a look back at what has been, but then also looking forward to the year ahead, wondering about what God may have in store for each one of us. Our text for this morning is Philippians 1:18.

11am – The Gift of God – Family Service

This morning we are celebrating Christmas in a way that we hope is accessible for all the family. There will be readings from God’s word the Bible, songs, a short video and Pastor Mike will tell us about the gift of God, who or what that is and why it should matter to all of us, from Romans 6:23.

Due to the interactive nature of the service, the sermon this morning will be slightly shorter than normal.

5:30pm – Mary’s Faith – Carols by Candlelight

This evening we hold our carols by candlelight service, come join us as we sing and worship our God in song, hearing God’s Word spoken and listen to Pastor Mike speak about how Mary’s faith changed history, in Luke 2:19.

11am – Christmas! What’s the point?

This morning we ask a straightforward question, but the answer has been changed over the years, and of course, the answer greatly depends on who you ask! We are going to look for the answer that the Bible gives, i.e. what does God think the reason for Christmas is? More importantly, what do you think the point of Christmas is!

5:30pm – Without Adam we wouldn’t have Christmas

This evening we think about the first man that God created, who they are, why they are important in history, and what this means for us, and noteably, why Adam is important to Christmas. Join us as we ponder this interesting thought.

11am – Sing Praises to Our God

This morning we have a guest speaker joining us; Steve Foley is going to speak to us from the Psalms, where the psalmist sings praises to our God, expresses joy and give glory to God, amongst other things. Join us as we listen and see what we can learn from Psalm 96.

5:30pm – God remembers and honours His servant

This evening we are joined by a guest speaker, Jonathan Sell. They will be taking us to the book of Luke, and showing us that God remembers his servants, honours them, loves them, shows them mercy, works miracles through His people and so much more. Join us as we listen and learn from Luke 1:5-25.

SCC 2025 Christmas Services

Sunday 14th December:
11am – Christmas – What’s The Point?!

Our morning service, we will be thinking about why we celebrate Christmas. Whether you have been to church a lot or never been before, you will find the message thought provoking and convicting. Please join us to find out about the great and good message that God wants us to hear about Christmas.

Sunday 21st December:
11am – Family Christmas Service

Our morning service on this week is going to be an interactive service, contain a message for all the family, lots of songs and hymns, lots of fun – as a church we believe that church should be enojoyed and not endured – as we think about the amazing events and story of Christmas. We would love for you and your family to join us as we enjoy learning about Jesus.

5:30pm – Carols by Candlelight

For our evening service, we are turning down the lights, lighting the candles, singing lots of carols, and hearing about the great news that God has provided us a Saviour in Jesus Christ our Lord. Come and join us to hear about the good news and lots of songs.

Christmas Day – 10:30am

Our Christmas Day morning service will begin at the slightly earlier time of 10:30am. Please join us as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ our Lord.

11am – The Great God and the Greatest Man

This morning Pastor Mike shows us the great God and the greatest Man, from Isaiah 40. This week we will be thinking about why God is great, the perspective we should have of God and who the greatest man who ever lived could be, from Isaiah 40:21-26.

5:30pm – God’s Will

This evening Pastor Mike takes us back to our studies in 1 Timothy, this week we move to verses 3-6 of chapter 2, where we will think about God’s will, what God wills or wants for all people, and God’s people – those to know and trust God for salvation, in 1 Timothy 2:3-6.
